Those who attended the Dream Big Expo would have seen our stand. Ashley (not shown) Francis and myself passed the incredibly stringent criteria required to man the stand (we were the only people who were willing to give up the time) but we both had a great time. I was ready to nab anyone who happened to live near Midland (bugger passing them on to Grand Lodge) but absolutely none of the dozen or so people who came up to us lived closer than Joondalup.

Still, Francis and I made a good team. He has decades of experience and spoke with quiet humility about how Freemasonry has made him a better man and I spoke about why I wanted to join a ‘secret society’ and why I’m still in it after finding out that it’s not so secret.

In hindsight, my opening line of “I’d really like to see you in an apron” probably wasn’t the way to go.
